Mt Cook is one of New Zealand's most visited tourism destinations. Our team has been involved for many years working on numerous tourism projects at this UNESCO world heritage site. Our work has including landscape design work for key anchor tourism facilities such as the Hermitage hotel, DOC headquarters, as well as other facilities such as the Alpine lodge, public shelter and car park areas. Throughout the design work undertaken here, the overarching approach was to provide amenity successfully integrate any intervention by using locating structures in recessive colours, using a palette of local materials and screening structures with eco-sourced native planting.
