Wilding Park was badly damaged in the Canterbury earthquakes with many of the courts, seating stands and ancillary buildings destroyed. The design involved creating a new entrance space and drop off area, a BBQ area, improved courtyard space on the east of the building and pergola features to the north of the building. The design also incorporates flexibility into the design so spaces can be reconfigured to allow for temporary stands and a marquee for larger events.
